Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All Have you seen this movie? Trivia : Pre-production for the movie lasted just one week. The film was conceived after Larry Cohen was fired from a low budget film shooting in New York. Cohen, determined not to waste the hotel room he had paid for, hired the actors and prepared a shooting script within six days.

Poll #1249527 Rate it: Krull (1983)
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All Have you seen this movie? Trivia : Frank Price, then-president of Columbia Pictures, determined that an unknown American actress would help state side ticket sales as opposed to an unknown English actress. With that logic in mind, Price met with Lysette Anthony and informed her that all of her dialogue had been dubbed by actress Lindsay Crouse. Anthony was totally unaware that her voice was to be dubbed prior to the meeting.

Heyhey. I'm still watching Flying Circus, and there's this one bit that I just don't quite get. Can anyone please explain Lemon Curry to me? Sorry if I'm a bit slow. :/ And another question, can you give me a website/websites with screencaps of Flying Circus? The only place I know is the Palin & Idle website, and I need pics of the other Pythons for icons. :D TIA! Wed, Aug. 27th, 2008, 10:30 pm
strangerface posting in remoot: A Clash of Kings: Sansa I

Book: A Clash of Kings Chapter: Sansa I Narrator: Sansa Stark Discussion Date: August 28 Questions Again, Lannister supporters think the comet means good things for Joffrey, yet the servants call it the "Dragon's Tail." Do they wish for a Targaryen reconquest already? Interesting tidbit that Arys Oakheart refuses to hit Sansa, we'll see this dwelled on again in AFFC. It's also interesting that Joffrey never has Sandor hit Sansa. Why do you think that is? It's interesting that Sansa wishes for Ser Moros Slynt to fall and then when he does she is shocked. Do you find it suspicious that Ser Dontos was fighting one of Petyr Baelish's men? Or am I being too weird? When Myrcella tells Joffrey they are supposed to be childish, I always smile. I love Myrcella and Tommen. Do you wish Tommen were older than Joffrey? How would Westeros be different if that were the case? It seems Myrcella and Tommen have their father's affection for Tyrion (while Joffrey has their mother's), because they are quite happy to see him in King's Landing. Do you think Tyrion would be a fun uncle? All sorts of people are calling themselves kings these days. Is Tyrion wise to mock Joffrey so publicly? (Even if it makes me love him?) Sansa thinks she will not make the mistake to trust a Lannister again, even though Tyrion is kind to her. While Littlefinger would say it is not wise to trust anyone in King's Landing, can she go through her whole life not trusting people?
Stuff I Always Ask What passages, if any, do you have flagged or underlined? What stands out in your memory from the first time you read this chapter? What jumps out at you now--after having read the rest of the series--that didn't when you first read it? Are there any meaningful passages you think we should discuss?

zenten posting in linux: In a move of sheer genius I removed all my kernels

So yeah, go ahead and laugh. Anyway, I don't want to have to reinstall (I do have a separate /home partition, but my root partition isn't actually big enough for an install), so I'm thinking I just need some sort of kernel back, and then I can go and install it normally. I'm using Ubuntu btw, if that makes a difference. I have an older Ubuntu live CD that I'm using to post right now. I tried copying over the kernel from there, but I get the following error when I try to manually start it from Grub (by first typing in kernel with various options, then typing in boot). VFS: Cannot open root device or unknown block (0,0) Please append a correct "root=" boot option Kernel panic not synking: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown - block (0,0)

jimheem posting in linux: cleaning up?

So I've been a sysadmin for many years, dealing with mostly Linux servers, but I've only been using Linux exclusivley as a desktop for about 4.... We all know that windows machines tend to bog down and crap out, it's only a matter of time. And most of us, being computer folk, know how to clean it up and get it running nice and shiny-like again. Myself included. What I've never had to deal with (not having to deal with user applications being installed in the server world) is a Linux machine starting to act this way. Now, I'll give it that I've had this system running for 4 years, much longer than a Windows machine would last given heavy day to day use with games, web, email etc. - But, now it's starting to bog down, and I don't know where to begin cleaning it up. I have plenty of disk space, my RAM is sufficient.. Any ideas where to start cleaning up and getting things running smoothly again? |
